Table Runners…….still……cheap and cute!
………chalkboard? I love it!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love table runners! They are the easiest and coolest way to add a great look to a table, either during a meal or as a daily décor. They’re much cheaper (usually) than a tablecloth and a great way to add some bold color to a tablescape. They can be as fancy as lace, urban as bamboo, chic as rice paper, or as cozy as a tartan scarf.
• A runner down the length of a table crisscrossed with other runners is a great look.
• You can learn how to make the ruler runner on Country Living’s site. It’s so cute and has step-
by-step how-to’s. What a great idea for a craft room!
• I have used smaller tablecloths folded and fluffed and laid down the middle of a table. It’s
• Any color, any fabric, any texture………think outside the proverbial box.
Another great thing about table runners is that if you are on a budget you can make one of these cheap, cheap, cheap and add the little “I’m going to go crazy if I don’t have a change” spark you are hoping for. We all have those days, right? Well here’s a really fun way to use a table runner to entertain. Check out the chalkboard table runner. This is a new favorite of mine and I can’t wait to have an excuse to use it. You can do this little project a few different ways with a few different products. You can either purchase blackboard cloth from a fabric store or paint a board or canvas with blackboard paint, either of these two options would be a reusable product. Or you can purchase chalkboard paper and call it disposable. That probably would be my choice, but I would like to try the fabric idea. I noticed that Anthropology sells these chalkboard runners for $46.00, but they are so cool!
